President/CEO Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation

Jay Cicero began his career in sports in group sales and marketing for the Shreveport Captains baseball team in 1986. In 1990, Cicero joined the New Orleans Sports Foundation as Director of Special Projects and served as the Director of Sales for the 1992 U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials.

In February 1993, Cicero was named the first General Manager of the New Orleans Zephyrs AAA Baseball Club. During his two-year tenure, the Zephyrs' franchise was launched in New Orleans and the groundwork established for the ballpark in Jefferson Parish.

In 1995, Cicero returned to the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation, assuming the role as Vice President of Operations for such events as the 1995 USA Gymnastics National Championships, 1996 SEC Basketball Tournament, the 1996 AAU Junior Olympic Games and the 1997 NFL Super Bowl.

Cicero was named President/CEO in June 1997. Under his tenure, the GNOSF has attracted and managed numerous events, such as the 1999, 2001, 2003 and 2011 Bassmaster's Classic, the 2002 and 2013 NFL Super Bowl (serving as Executive Director of the Host Committee), the 2003 and 2012 SEC Men's Basketball Tournament, the 2003 and 2012 NCAA Men's Final Four, the 2004 and 2013 NCAA Women's Final Four, the 2005 and 2011 AAU Junior Olympic Games, the 2007 and 2008 Arena Football Bowl, the 2008 NBA All-Star Game, numerous NCAA Men's 1st/2nd Rounds and Regionals as well as the annual R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl (2002-present).
